I agree, these do look very interesting and I hope that we get the ok to order (bleh - budget cuts). I thought the Caldecott Award book was crazy - 555 pages for a picture book. Obviously soemthing closer to a graphic novel!

I'm not too surprised that "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" won the Caldecott. There was a lot of buzz about it being in contention for either the Newbery or the Caldecott. The illustrations are fabulous!
