Hello, Is Anybody Out There?

We have seventy bloggers signed up here, and we haven't heard from many of you for a long time. Have you given up reading the Newbery winners? Were you traumatized by Miss Hickory or did you get bogged down in The Story of Mankind?

There are a lot books here that only have one or two posts on them. We could really use some more perspectives.

You don't have to read every single book, folks. Or if you decide to read them all, you don't have to do it this summer. Come on, now's the perfect time to read Thimble Summer or A Year Down Yonder and tell us what you think.

New bloggers are always welcome, too. We can have up to a hundred different posters on this site, and we can always remove old posters that haven't posted in years (or ever).

Sandy, I'm still here! I actually have a stack of three Newbery winners I've read in the past few months that I need to post on. Life has been crazy since my last post at the end of March - my husband had a bleeding ulcer and was hospitalized for a week, trips to New York City and a family event in Houston, and I just completed three weeks as the substitute instructor in a college-level children's literature course - took over two weeks into the five-week summer term when the professor was diagnosed with cancer. It's going to take a while to catch up on everything - including commenting on your great posts!

Amanda, I'm not talking to you. You've been pretty prolific in the last year (even with what sounds like a LOT on your plate!).

I want to know where all the bloggers who haven't posted in a year are! Did they just stop reading? What about all the people who signed up and then never submitted a post? Surely you've been annoyed by someone else's post on your favorite Newbery? Now's the perfect time to post a different opinion. :-)

Yes I am still here. I appreciate this opportunity to get peoples perspectives on these books. I've read the first twenty seven and being almost a third of the way done i'm confident that I can finish this project. I appreciate all your hard work on the posts.

Yes I am still here - but life has got in the way. Thank you for continuing the great work on the blog - I will really try to get my act together again soon!
